On Setting Free
"If you love somebody, set them free. If they come back, then it's meant to be."
This quote is more about coming back than setting free.
It's true that your loved ones should be free to decide their love. You hear too often of abusive relationships and people getting chained to someone else and not allowed the freedom of choice. Love should be an encouraging relationship, not an enslavement.
However, what if both people set each other free? Both are left waiting for the other person to make the first move.
I know you've heard it before, but maybe that's because it's true. Tell the people you love how you feel. You don't know how much of a difference it could make. But I know how hard it is. Having a crush is like falling off a cliff. If you're wrong, you'll fall and get hurt. But if you're right, then you can fly.
I bet you're not afraid of flying. But you're afraid of falling, afraid of the risk that you might fall. I understand. However, I've heard that the biggest risk is not taking one.
So, anyway, what does all this mean? Tell the people you appreciate how you feel. You never know if they've set you free and are waiting for you to come back.
Just a thought.
